gordon ramsey: so what’s wrong with the restaurant? a staff member about to drag out every single bad and/or questionable thing their boss has ever done:
So my boyfriend has been fitting in incredibly well with my mother’s family, and he wanted to get my mom something unique for Christmas this year.
At his last birthday, he and I had a tiff about whether eating apple pie on his birthday was really a “tradition” considering he’d only done it a couple years in a row. As evidence of how much my family likes him, they all took his side and chastised me for trying to deprive a man of his pie.
“Is apple pie a birthday-only thing for you?” one of my aunts asked my boyfriend.
“Apple pie is always,” he replied.
My family thought that was hilarious, and a couple weeks later, at my sisters’ birthday, in addition to cake my mom also made an apple pie for my boyfriend to take home with a little card that said “always.” My boyfriend was absolutely delighted and still has the card.
Anyway, for Christmas this year he’s ordered four shirts with a picture of apple pie and the phrase “apple pie is always” on them, and one shirt with a picture of apple pie crossed out and the phrase “apple pie is not always.”
On Christmas we plan on giving my mom and her sisters three of the shirts, and my boyfriend will wear another one under his jacket, to be revealed when they open their gifts. I will be bearing “apple pie is not always.”
Not only am I sure my mom and aunts will be delighted, but my boyfriend and I will now have unique matching shirts with an inside joke, just like every otp should.
